Dec 2014: Unable to authenticate with Sugar issue

Post by opacus.jon » Sat Dec 20, 2014 9:15 am

In December 2014 an update was released for a popular extension 'Provider for Google Calendar' ( ... -calendar/), version 1.0.3.

The installation of this update adversely affects the recommended method for generating an md5sum within an extension. The Opacus extension uses md5sums in two places - once to generate a hash of the password for authentication, and again to generate a hash of the hostname for licensing comparison.

To get to the point, when version 1.0.3 of the Provider for Google Calendar is installed in Thunderbird, the Opacus SugarCRM extension will fail to authenticate and validate the license.

Currently there is no resolution to this problem, but we will be working to get this resolved ASAP.

We have not tested any workarounds to date, but it does seem likely that a short term version downgrade of Provider would allow both extensions to function together. See this post for details!topic ... NZWbeBIJKQ

UPDATE: We've submitted a bug to Mozilla and the resolution is likely to originate from work on that bug. You can view the bug report here:
