Setup Guide

Post by s4dg » Thu May 08, 2014 8:47 pm

SugarCRM CE Version 6.5.16 (Build 1082)
Thunderbird 24.5.0

I am trying to configure the Activities sync per the instructions on http://www.opacus.co.uk/sugarcrm-activi ... vice-setup. The address listed from the instructions do not appear to be valid the 6.5.16 build.

Using the new ical publish address from SugarCRM is accepted by Thunderbird but no events appear. Can someone please verify if Sugar Activities Sync is compatible with the latest CE. If not, I will be seeking a refund from Opacus.

Thanks

Yes it is compatible with the latest version of CE. What is your server environment - i.e. which web server are you using? If it is apache, do you know if mod_rewrite is enabled?

Thanks

It is apache2 with Virtualmin/webmin. I don't recall but I cleared all the warnings from the initial install of SugarCRM CE. So should the mod_rewrite be enabled or disabled?

We would advise that mod_rewrite be enabled on the instance, as well as the directive AllowOverride (which SugarCRM needs anyway).

Let me know if you are still having issues.

Is http://[SUGARCRM-URL]/sas/calendars/[USERNAME]/default still the valid caldav address for 6.5? I tried using it and it did not work.

Yes, in Lightning that would be the correct url. The username component is case sensitive. Can you try turning on verbose logging in the settings then viewing the log after an attempt to connect?

Thanks

After creating the new network calendar and enter the sugarcrm html address http://[SUGARCRM-URL]/sas/calendars/[USERNAME]/default with the account credentials substituted, the new calendar entry turns offline grey and I cannot bring online.

for [USERNAME] I entered the exact entry that appeared on the user profile.

Using the Verbose logging mode on Thunderbird didn't reveal a connection attempt. Am I correct to assume a failed log attempt would still be recorded or just successful tasks?

It's in SugarCRM in Admin > Opacus Activities Sync. There should be a setting in there to enable verbose logging and view the log file.

Thanks

Well now I think we are on to something...

Was the Opacus Activity Sync automatically installed but not enabled on the initial SugarCRM CE install? I did not see any download and install plugin instructions on the website except for how to connect thunderbird. So I purchased my license and thought the thunderbird add on unlocks the additional activity syncing functionality.

Ok, so I don't see any files listed in the download section but my customer portal but it does show my Activity Sync license. May I please have the link to the plugin?
